In 2017, during her MA studies in Electronic and Computer Music, Nicole curated an event called “Crackle: A Night of Experimental Turntablism.” This was an event showcasing experimental turntablism at the University of Leeds. Armed with 25minutes each, the performers (NikNak, James Kelly and Edward Wilson-Stephens) shared what “Experimental Turntablism” means to them:

In March 2018, Nicole participated in the Brighter Sounds/Both Sides Now residency with 14 other female participants in which they collaborated with turntablist Shiva Feshareki.

In December 2018, Nicole performed a live improvised turntablism set on the 24hr Musicathon at Chapel FM, Leeds.

Below is a piece called “Turkish Delight”, NikNak’s improvised turntablism performance from “Leeds International Festival presents…Melanie Ó Dubhshláine: Urban Animals“, held at the Brudenell Social Club in Leeds in May 2019 as part of the Music:Leeds Launchpad and Leeds International Festival.
